چکیده

Inorganic polymer materials (Geopolymers) are synthesized using alumino-silicate sources as solid components with an alkaline solution. This material is used alternative for building and provides thermal protection foaming materials. paper presents the preparation of these by reaction between glass waste (from brown color bottles BP) sodium hydroxide NaOH aluminum (AN5) solutions alkali activators. For mortars (BP-N5 BP-AN5), sand was aggregate. The compressive strengths were assessed (24 6 MPa) respectively before heat treatment, hydrolytic stability (PH conductivity) tests performed. Furthermore, hardened have been heated at very high temperatures in range 200℃ to 800℃ within two hours. Based on nature behavior such materials, various variables changed; (80-140) % volume increase porosity rise through process particularly 600℃ 800℃. On other hand, (3.5-7) mass reduction occurred. It can be said that more significant different geometrical configurations (sizes shapes) considered acoustic insulation

Immobilization of Radioactive Waste in Fly Ash Based Geopolymers

The low-level salt waste (LAW) associated with the production of nuclear materials at US Department of Energy (DOE) facilities will be disposed of in shallow land burial sites managed by the DOE. Two of the primary contaminants of interest are Tc-99 and I-129, both soluble and long-lived radionuclides. Cs-137, a short-lived, strong gamma emitter is also a soluble contaminant of concern. In addi...

Microstructural Characteristics of Geopolymers Based on Alkali-Activated Fly Ash

Aluminosilicate geopolymers with a high silica molar ratio have been prepared by mixing Croatian coal-ash (ASTM Class F) and sodium silicate solution (water glass, technical grade). The samples were cured at 85 °C for 8 h and 24 h in different experimental conditions. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM/EDS) have been use...

Effect of Fly Ash Fineness on Sorption Properties of Geopolymers Based On Liquid Glass

Abstract—Fly ash (FA) thanks to the significant presence of SiO2 and Al2O3 as the main components is a potential raw material for geopolymers production. Mechanical activation is a method for improving FA reactivity and also the porosity of final mixture; those parameters can be analysed through sorption properties. They have direct impact on the durability of fly ash based geopolymer mortars. ...

Inhibitory Effect of Waste Glass Powder on ASR Expansion Induced by Waste Glass Aggregate

Detailed research is carried out to ascertain the inhibitory effect of waste glass powder (WGP) on alkali-silica reaction (ASR) expansion induced by waste glass aggregate in this paper. The alkali reactivity of waste glass aggregate is examined by two methods in accordance with the China Test Code SL352-2006. The potential of WGP to control the ASR expansion is determined in terms of mean diame...
